If you are looking for something advance and idiosyncratic for your home décor; we bring you a whole lot of ideas to decorate your space in contemporary style. It fringes many different styles that are current or latest in trends. It brings in simplicity and makes a place look more spacious with the use of smooth lines, neutral colors, geometrical shapes and furnishing. It also shares various elements of modern style décor and does not refer to the historical styles directly. The use of natural material makes it a different style and gives a very comfortable and inviting look to a house. Here are some ideas if you are in for this style:-
Flooring- Contemporary home décor features sleek and unadorned flooring with the use of stone, ceramic, smooth in wood, maple or ash. Your floor should create a bold statement with a serious shine. Take the decision wisely and then give your floor a finishing touch with plain or geometric-patterned area rugs.
Color your walls- Use bright and bold colors for your contemporary wall décor. Colors can be neutrals, black, grey, brown, taupe, cream and white. You don’t need to use textures on your walls as contemporary style features walls that are simple and elegant.
Furniture- Look for the upholstered furniture which is simple, uncluttered, without curves or decoration. It must wear colors like black, white or other neutral tones in textured natural fibers. An essential thing to be considered while choosing furniture of contemporary style is its geometrical shape; it should go best for your space. Your sofas, chairs or other furniture should have exposed legs and should feature clean lines and smooth surfaces without any carving.
Lightening- Lighting is an artistic statement in a contemporary interior. Use lamps and chandeliers with sleek metallic finishes. You can also go for track lighting, cove lighting and recessed lighting; or you can also choose spotlights drawing attention towards wall arts.
Enhance it with technology- In this modern era, everything happens with the use of electronic gadgets, whether it is entertainment or office work. And it’s high time we created a proper space for the gadgets in our interiors. For this you can keep some hidden details like keeping the wires hidden of your television, heating/cooling system, lighting and refrigerator; and bring some innovative control in your lifestyle.
Adding on something more? - Accessories make a bold statement in the contemporary décor but in a different manner. Here, less is more!! When you are decorating your home make sure you don’t use them in excessive and don’t use ruffles, fringe or floral prints. Accessorize with simple things and arrange them well in a tight and uniform manner. You can go for contemporary sculptures or art pieces on a stand.
