Your doorstep is what imparts the first impression of your dream home. The whole look of your house is actually dependant on your doorstep. But though your doorstep is the first that comes in sight of your guests it is usually neglected by the inhabitants. Though your doorstep cannot be loaded with decorations, some slight changes and décor can give a new life to your doors. Here are some simple doorstep decorating tips that will rejuvenate your doorstep and add drama to your place.
Large Wooden Planters:- Wooden planters give your doorstep a more elegant look than the pots. Painting them in accordance with the colour of your outdoor will also provide resonance to your place. They not only add to your exteriors but also serve the purpose of planting beautiful flowers in them which will further enhance the look.
Door Knockers:- From the time of kings and queens door knockers have been in fashion the difference being that with the fast advancing world the trends have been continuously changing and now we see a vast variety of door knockers. If you have a simple door of some light colour you can go for heavy brass knockers that come in different shapes. These will enhance the look of your doors and will make them look more substantial. You can also go for some light or hand -made door knockers with some kind of welcome note with them.
Colour the Doors not the Walls:- Try to keep the colours of yours walls in shades of white and paint the doors instead. Grey is latest in fashion and looks elegant. You can also paint your doors in hues of deep purple, blue, light and dark green, maroon etc.
Door Lightings:- Add on some light on the walls on the either end at your door step. You can give a rustic look to your outdoors by putting on some brass made lightings. You can also add some modern delicate glass made lightings and give your door step a sophisticated look. LED flood lights, Landscape lighting and string lighting are also very much in trend these days.
Hang on Some Flowers:- Flowers have been always considered as the best way to decorate your door step. You can fill in a see through basket with flowers and sewing supplies and give your doorstep a creative look. You can also hang a beautiful glass jar with artificial flowers. If a staircase leads to your doorstep, you can keep flower pots in different arrangements at each step with brightly coloured flowers in them to have a summary feel.
