A farmhouse away from the hustle and bustle of our city lives. Isn’t that the dream! A beautiful house overlooking a spring and a playground at the back is probably the modern urban dream. So it is time to color that dream. We help you design your dream farmhouse kitchen with every detail under the sun!
Space: Space is crucial for your suburban home. You need a lot of open spaces in comparison to the comparatively cramped urban space! Space is even more essential in your kitchen. Now you could add some space by subtracting a dining room and adding it to that pretty kitchen. Space in the kitchen is even more essential in your holiday home if you plan to don the hat of a gourmet chef for the little break.
Furniture:If you plan incorporate a dining table in the kitchen, you have to choose your tables and chairs wisely. Rather than investing a lot of money in ornate tables and chairs, you could go for a rustic look by using painted wood ware. It looks authentic and would blend in right with the theme of the countryside. Reusing old furniture can also be a great idea. A huge table is one of the things that you can’t do without in a farmhouse kitchen.
Lighting:The lighting in your country kitchen can be descended. Yellow lights spruce up your area like nothing else.Chandelier bulbs look great too.
Plants:Home grown plants can be the difference that you can create between your regular kitchen and the holiday one. The pretty greens can be really refreshing and instill a sense of calmness in your senses. Fresh flowers can also do the trick.
Shelving:Shelves are an important component in any kitchen, infinitely more so when you’re planning up a farmhouse kitchen. Employ magnetic pullout shelves in yourTake a break and have a look at these awesome products:area and save space as well as increase it! Employ towel racks and wicker baskets to store things in an attractive way.
Cabinets:A cabinet is one of those things you absolutely cannot do without! Its space at an absolute premium and you can show off all your exquisite tableware, glassware and cutlery. Even better, a closed cabinet helps you to keep off dust when you’re not at that holiday home. Accent lighting is a surefire way to liven up that pretty little cabinet.
Tableware: The tableware you select defines the character of your kitchen. Ceramics give an edgy look to your cabinet. You can also try Corelle and LaOpala, which are a trifle steep for the pocket, but at the same time elegant and classy. You can have two sets of tableware, one for casual occasions, and one for formal sit-down dinner parties.
Drapes:The windows in the kitchen need covering just as much as anywhere else. You can use old dupattas or sarees as drapes for your kitchen windows. These look ethnic and yet beautiful. An awning is a pretty idea over the window.
Appliances:Like I mentioned before, being on a break from your hectic schedule would probably make you want to explore
Kitchen Fixtures:The faucets and sink you use are just as important as the rest of your kitchen. I’d suggest a deep sink and bar faucets. That will help reduce the splatter on your floor. Also, a bar faucet is a boon when washing vegetables or meat. Waterstone faucets are another option that you can explore.
Lastly, I would encourage you to explore other design options. Go wild. Happy decorating!
