Namaste!! Today, I invite you to take a tour around my cozy 3 BHK apartment! If you are wondering where I found the décor inspiration from, I must tell you- I am a keen believer of old values and traditions and a fervent admirer of ethnic living. And with things evolving at this pace, I felt my heritage getting lost. It was then I believed-it’s time for revival! And now I am glad that it reflects in my interiors which depict a royal taste of my family.

I am a mother of three- Shreya, Sharine and Shreyas and we have a pet Zoro who would be as much excited to show you around the house.

Also, I had taken care of directions and rooms’ layout in the beginning, which was of course as per Vastu. The entrance faces North east and the Pooja Room and the Kitchen occupies the Northern area. And then a final touch up was made- bright hues were chosen for walls to bring in positive energy at home.

Let’s start from the Living Room- The space is bright, cheerful and colorful with a Buddha painting on one of the walls to bring in an air of serenity. My husband loves this room as much as I do. He would not mind relaxing on these couches after a hectic day at office. The living room and dining room walls are covered with tiles up to half the wall length- This was done with a purpose- to prevent wall dirt. But we didn’t know it will complement the existing setting so well.

Dining area is kept simple; there is nothing much apart from the dining table and a crockery counter. Everything has been done as per space.

As for me, I would rather go for a decor that gives a very “home-like” feel, not the one that makes your home a display zone. Kitchen is my favorite place- Why wouldn’t it be? You would find me here most of the time. And as a housewife, I am trying my best to preserve that homely- ambiance at home.

Although we shifted here about 11 years back, the house has seen very less of renovation since then.

Haven’t you checked out the party area near the living room? Here is where the entire buzz happens.  Also, it has an exotic view of the outdoors.  I have been planning to place a bonded sofa in this area since long. Nevertheless, I drop this idea every time I look at the space in here, which I would not like getting squashed.

The mini bar counter and coffee table are as luxurious as Mr. Manral has always wished to have.
Now, let’s take a stroll- towards the rooms. On the way you would stumble upon various artifacts, which, have been purchased by Mr. Manral during his abroad tours. For instance, you can check out this miniature gun here on this wall.

All the bedrooms are neatly maintained. Even the kids’ rooms are well maintained with no clutter at all.

Its nostalgic how we thought to put on special effects of light shades, which we believed would change the look and the ambiance of our good old 3BHK. And we were right. The lights put up a good play and mesmerize the entire aura.

And before you think, the entire house is designed by me,I must tell you that it hasn’t been possible without my husband’s contribution. Lastly, I would suggest a special mantra of having your dream home- “Home décor is not a onetime process. Maintenance is must. No matter how often you change your setting, do maintain your home on daily basis. Also, surround yourself with bright colors such that you and your family would love to spend time relaxing there- a homely home, that’s what they say!
