Solid wood is a much liked medium for interiors and architecture in South Indian homes. Rosewood, Oak or Teakwood is a stamp. Coupled with a natural or lacquered finish and a variety of drapes and lights, it creates for a stunning effect. Jute and Velvet carpets also form an integral part of this décor.

Royalty is added by the choice of fabric in furniture. Options in silk, velvet or leather in rich patterns and colors work wonders. For a more somber appeal, neutral shades work well.

While decorating curtains, tie-backs are a popular option.  Matched with curtain poles they help build the drama.
