Top 10 lighting ideas for Valentine's day to try out this seasonBy Smitha Jose
Festive Decor Tweet 0 Comment(s)
Excited about the day? Sure, you must be. With Valentine's day fast approaching, the chilly winters about to bid adieu, the season is setting in.
Come February and there begins the planning- what to wear, what to gift, where to go and list goes on. Why not spend this V-Day at home. Well, its just some tiny decorations you have to do to make it a worthy evening at home.
So here are some ideas worth trying. Come on !! Its for your love, don't think too much. Get going.
Heart waits at the window
Turn the pretty fairy lights into symbol of love. All you will need is a thin ductile wire which can be wrapped around with fairy lights. Hang it up at the windows or as a door wreath to impress your loved one.
All along the stairs
Let each step you take together take you to everlasting happiness.
Arrange pillar candles on each tread of the stairs. To make it more appealing, spread some rose petals around them.
Dispel gloominess from the darkest of the corners by placing a giant decorative lamp just like the one shown above. Rose petals, the purest symbol of love and care, is used to bring in the warmth.
Fairy lights are a versatile bunch. Give a little twist to these lights and there !! you create a whole new light. Pierce the lights into glittery heart shaped cut outs to give some extra effect to the lighting.
Whether its Christmas or V-Day, summers or winters, if you have a fireplace in your home, you have just the right element to glitter up the day. With winter season getting shortened every year, we hardly put it into use in this time of the year. So why not make the place warm again by burning some votive or pillar candles. The mantel shelf too are great space to be decorated with scented candles and flowers.
Down the memory lane
V-Day for a married couple is about recalling all those sweet moments they spent together. So, this time instead of reminding each other of those memories, display them. Clip it up on a string of fairy lights and hang it across the walls. Have a good laugh at the craziness you were filled with in the past. Promise yourself to remain the same forever.
Dining made special
Dining holds a special place in a V-day affair. And for the same reason, no one wants to settle for anything ordinary. A dinner at an expensive hotel or restaurant is all we think of when we want to make it 'special'. This time, for a change, give your home a hotel look. Trust me, this isn't a tough job. Let the royal chandelier take a rest. Instead, place some votive or e- candles on the table, spread some rose petals. This is not something you experience every day.
Sheer curtains we use for windows and room dividers can become wonderful backdrop for fairy lights raining down.
Light up your wall kissing couch space by fairy lights using a sturdy support to twine around. Red and white bed linen can be a fitting compliment to go with the occasion.
