As we are nearing the sweetest month of the year, all are planning big for the special day. Going out for a date dinner, a movie session together or spending some quality time with your love at the beach- the plans are many. But is your house prepared enough for the occasion? If not, here's some thing for you to get it ready by the day.
So let's start with the doors.
You would never want to invite your valentine through a dull looking bare door. Why not hang a door wreath ? Heart shaped ones stands for the occasion but need not be the only choice. Ranging from expensive ones to the simple DIY ( made of papers and glitters)- options are plenty.
Hearts in the air
Hang heart shaped paper cuttings near windows, corners of the walls, headboard. This can indeed make you and your loved one feel 'love is in the air'.
Fill the walls with love
Walls are perfect space to express your love. Stick photos of some of your cherishable moments with your partner. Add colour to the scene by sticking some hearts around.
Fill some jars with colourful heart shaped candies or cookies to blend in with the season. This can be a delightful view for your corner table which is screaming out to be noticed.
Dangling wind chimes
Take your usual wind chimes to the cupboard. Let some tiny weeny hearts sway in the air.
Cushions and pillows
As summer is still weeks away, there is still time to take those light coloured cushion linen out of the closet. Meantime, cover the cushions with bright red or pink. Heart shaped cushions can be a cute addition to the setting.
Coffee time made special
Candles have ever borne witness to the sweetest moments of life. Decorate your center table with candles and rose petals for a precious coffee time with your partner.
No occasion is complete without a sumptuous dinner at the end. Since the day is of love, the dining tables cannot be left to just serving dishes and bottles of wine. Candles, natural or artificial flowers and cards can be used to make the dining a special affair. The table can be given a valentine's theme by using napkins and table sheets in the shades of red and blue. Don't forget to have warm, soft lights overlooking the table.
Warmer Fire place
Fire places can become a cynosure on any occasion- be it Christmas or Valentine's Day. Decorate the fireplace mantel with candles, strings of cards and photo frames. Hang some thoughts for your love on a bunch of dry stems .
Write it down
If expressing through words is what you find more touching, take it to the paint board. Write your heart out and add some drama with cute 3D stickers. Complete the look with having candles and flowers to flank the paint board.
