Murali Murugan

Ar. Murali, having graduated from the Anna University and pursued his post graduation from McGill University Canada. He started this firm, Murali Architects in the year 1990. Ar.Murali  have successfully accomplished large scale projects like the Chennai Mofussil bus stand CMBT, Koyembedu and Thirumylai railway station at Mylapore,educational and medical institutions and residential villas.

He also specializes in the medical and Health sectors, some large scale hospitals like Kovai Medical Centre Coimbatore, Lotus Hospital Erode, Sri Kumaran hospital Tirpur and The Madras ENT Research Foundation Chennai, were designed and executed successfully. He has also done international projects in the Seychelles Islands namely the Seychelles International Medical Centre, Mahe. He also worked for International Organizations like Save The Children, UK for over 50 schools across the state of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Danish Organization “Danida” for building around 400 health centers across the state of Tamil Nadu. He has also designed many Institutional and Residential Buildings. Vidhya Mandir, Bala Vidhya Mandir, Tamil Nadu Agriculture University, Tamil Nadu Veterinary University, etc. are some of the educational projects.

Ar. Murali has been a consultant for some premier institutions like the Punjab National Bank, corporation of Chennai etc. He was also representative for the Raman One Man committee, of Tamil Nadu Government to monitor the building standards for the medical collages according to the norm. He has also contributed a lot to the improvement of architecture. He received the commendation award for “the best creation" on of the year 2006” for the Tamil Nadu chapter of Architects. His works has been published in various magazines like Architecture Update, Design Detail, MGS(Modern Green Structures & Architecture) and E- Journals and websites. One of his works ‘Residence for Shanthi Priya Mohan’ was shortlisted among ‘20 good houses of India’ by Trends magazine. Four of his works has been published in Architectural Footprints magazine. He has also designed community buildings like Erode Crematorium, school buildings for the children of convicts for “ Hope Foundation “.
