Nupur Prothi Khanna

Nupur Prothi Khanna is a Physical Planner & Landscape Architect from S.P.A Delhi (1994, 1996) and a Conservation graduate from University of York (2003) with nearly two decades of experience. She is an EC Member of Indian Society of Landscape Architects (ISOLA); Expert Member, ICOMOS IFLA International Scientific Committee on Cultural Landscapes; and was a Scientific Committee Member of International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISoCaRP).

She is the receipient of ISOCARP (UNESCO sponsored) first Young Planners Award and research grant (1998, Portugal) for her paper on Yamuna Riverfront development, Charles Wallace –INTACH UK Trust scholarship for further studies (2002, York), European Gardens Scholarship (Mc Laren Trust 2003, Spain), INTACH Research scholarship on historic planting(2015, India).

Nupur has participated as Speaker, Coordinator, Moderator and Trainer for ISOLA (India 2014, 2015), ICOMOS (Italy 2014, USA 2006) and ISoCaRP (Abudhabi 2013, Dalian 2008, Netherlands 2005, Egypt 2003, Germany 1999) and is involved Desk reviews for World Heritage Centre (2014, 2015) and World Monument Watch (2015). Her diverse background in planning, design and conservation philosophy has encouraged her to seek contextual solutions to urbanisation concerns in Asia.

Founder and Director of the firm Beyond Built Pvt. Ltd., Delhi, she has contributed equally on iconic contemporary and historic projects in India. Notable amongst these are Landscape Development of DIAL Terminal 3 project (2008-10) for GMR & AECOM, ELANTE Multi use development for L&T, Waterfront development projects for WAPCOS. As a historic Landscape consultant she has been associated  with Humayun's Tomb gardens with Shaheer Associates, Pinjore gardens with CRCI, historic sites of Sirpur, Mubarak Mandi and Fatehabad with INTACH, Sultanpur lodi and Ferozepur with Punjab Heritage & Tourism Promotion Board.
