Ar. Rosemary Sachdev was born Australian. After school, she studied architecture at Melbourne University from 1955 to 1960. She started teaching History of Architecture and Design as well as Structures in the same school. She came to India on a three month study tour with a group of students in January 1963. She married Jasbir Sachdev and returned to India in January 1964, where she has lived ever since. Jasbir and Rosemary started an architectural firm, Sachdev Eggleston Associates, which carried out a number of projects, including many educational buildings, such as the campus for Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar and Modern School, Vasant Vihar.

At the SPA, she has also been involved with the Architecture as well as Conservation Department.  She has been on the Board of Studies, helped with syllabus revisions,  been on various committees, over so many years that it is difficult  to remember all of her involvements.
