5 ways to brighten up your studio apartmentBy Sahana Rajagopal
Decor Tips Tweet 0 Comment(s)
The opportunity to design or decorate our own home is the dream that many of us lived for. However living in the city in tiny studio apartments, these dreams suddenly feel too far fetched. Today’s generation is such that everybody is too busy working; we don’t find the time or rather we don’t make the time to decorate the homes we live in. As a result the walls remain bare, the furniture is scattered, shelves are empty and there isn’t any décor happening! But why is this phase suddenly popular? So what if the apartment you currently reside is small, doesn’t that actually make it easier to decorate?
Yes, the options are limited but that’s what makes it more fun. Here are a few articles that you could include while decorating your tiny home.
Different shades of colors:
The right choice of drapery decides the fate of the apartment. Since a studio apartment is basically just one room, so different curtains can be hung in order to create divisions if needed. But ensure that these curtains don’t take up too much space. Having colorful curtains definitely has its perks: as it makes the room appear livelier, however if you are more of a somber person then go for cream curtains as they make the room look spacious!
Lights will guide you home:
Every home needs light. Yes, there is electricity now and hence the need for lanterns is definitely curbed. However, lanterns are a symbol of hope and positivity. Also the different types of lanterns available today are innumerable! A lantern can be hung or kept in a corner or even used as a centerpiece. They definitely give your home a more “homely look”. Fairy lights can also be used to spice up the room a little bit.
Display on the walls:
These are something that each and every one of us have: Photographs. They are of our family, friends, pets, travel destinations, the food we love, the quotes we live by or even the characters we love! We certainly have them stored on our phones and laptops! So, let’s print them out and display them on those bare white walls, and see the room fill with the magic of love and happiness!
Let’s get comfy:
Cushions: these are items that make a room look extremely comfortable! Cushions come in various shapes and sizes, but their importance lies in their softness. A soft cushion is the best part of your home. Throw some colorful cushion covers on, and your furniture now looks bright and shiny!
An all purpose table:
A must have for every individual residing in a studio apartment is a coffee table. This table is obviously not just for coffee but is for everything. Ensure that the room is clean and use this table to store all your books, stationary, laptop, chargers etc. This will make your room look tidy and also everything else extremely accessible!
Don’t let the limited space hamper your creativity ! Let your mind free and devise more ways to brighten up your residence!
