Vastu for BathroomBy Imdad

A bathroom stands for purification and self-renewal. In a bathroom we not only clean ourselves physically, we also erase all mental filth. And hence, you should not ignore some handy Bathroom Vastu Tips which have been dealt below.
It is a known fact that water always flows from the North, North-East or from the Eastern sides of the geographical representation of the earth. This is the very reason why our ancestors used to construct or set up the bathroom on the East side.
We have a tradition of offering "morning greeting" to the sun facing it. Hence "Vastu Shastra" suggests us to construct the bathroom on the East side of the house.
Toilet:- According to the principles of Vastu Shastra, toilets should be installed separately, although Vastu suggests separation of the toilet and the bathroom, but it is not possible these days because of lack of space.
If the toilet and the bathroom are attached the following points must be taken care of:-
- Do not build the toilet in the eastern direction.
- The toilet should be constructed towards the West or South.
- One should face West or South while using the toilet.
Color of the Bathroom Walls:-
The color of the bathroom walls can be painted according to one's desire but it is preferable to paint light colors, like blue, white or light shades of pink, etc.
The reason behind using light colors is that light shades brighten up a space and make it look larger than the original space. Another reason is that one may not notice any dangerous animals or insects like snakes in the dark; also the dirt may remain unnoticed in the dark.
Windows and ventilators:-
A large window can be placed in the North and smaller ventilators can be established in the East or West. The small window either in the East or West will allow theof sunrays, which would help to dry up the bathroom very quickly, while the larger window will maintain constant light in the bathroom. And having windows and ventilators in the bathroom will help, fresh air to replace hot and humid air.
Some Vastu tips for your bathroom:-
- The eastern portion of the house is considered to be the best location for a bathroom.
- Vastu suggests to fix the taps and showers on the northern side.
- As per the guidelines of Vastu, the drainage system should be in the northeast direction.
- It is suggested that the geyser should be placed in the Southeast corner.
- According to Vastu Shastra, the door should not be in the southwest direction.
- A bathtub can be set-up on the west side.
