The Hills, Residential-Single family dwelling

'The Hills, 100 meters high where a huge mass rises up out of the hillside. Only the cylindrical concrete columns serve as a reminder that this place has sprung from earth. Once you enter the gates you drive across a half soccer pitch which then leads you through a scenic ride to the majestic foyer where you are welcomed by a dazzling fountain. The living, dining room & the kitchen are laid in an arrangement such that all open to the internal courtyard & to the pool deck hence resulting in an ambient interpersonal space of the interior and exterior. The dining overlooks the pool deck & is divided by a 6 metre high colonnade with arches creating a private & a magical space. The view from the pool is spectacular with the Arabian sea on one side & the mountains on the other all in one frame. The delightful family home is built up of a series of unit of different heights & dimensions. The many differences in levels are almost invisibly integrated into the whole. The expansive external deck and blue mosaic finished infinity swimming pool overlooks the Arabian Sea. The house is divided in three floors each having its own function .The circulation areas and the rooms are grouped around a central court giving them their own level of privacy. The lower floor being used the most is a powerhouse for entertainment housing Indias first private bowling alley. A 24 seater private cinema, pool table, table tennis, ice hockey, X box are amongst the other few which occupy the basement floor. The bedrooms are on the upper floor each having its own terrace with spectacular views of the Rewas Beach. The roof terrace houses a barbecue and one can see panoramic sunsets and distant views of the Maximum city.
