Architecture Continuous
Bangalore, Karnataka, India-560078 |Practicing since: March 1, 2003 Breathing Home at Bengaluru, Residential-Single family dwelling
The architects perceived the entire built-form as breathing home ….
The Exterior form is defined by a firm and rigid frame which contrasts with the internal space that is very fluid and interconnects and binds the different functions to create a very open yet a compact experience .It is a contemporary interpretation of a traditional courtyard house.Interesting Features:
The punctures on the outer rigid wall are intelligently positioned to avoid visual connect to the outside but serve to be a constant passage for the movement of air .There are vents positioned all along the skylight facilitating the “stack effect ”which provide for hot air to rise and escape out. The skylight floods the living area with day light.
The architects have also used the pool strategically which not only provides visual relief but enhances the indoor comfort acting as a passive design factor yet the privacy is not compromised.
The visual communication helps connect various spaces because of the nature of the material that separates the spaces-Glass. The surfaces are fluid in nature and the flexibility to use it, to define or open up to connect enhances the perception of depth and volume. This residents experience the grandeur, elegance in their comfortable and highly functional home. This picture relates to/has: Living Room, Large Living Room, Jhula
