Project Status: CompletedCreating a unique, iconic and sustainable state of the art facility is the main idea behind the design of the proposed Jai Prakash Narayan International Centre. The building has been designed as an extension to the existing Ram Manohar Lohia park. Designed to emerge out this park by flowering the greenery of the park on the building and the merging the building with park, the design of the center enhances the urban fabric of Lucknow and aims building that would serve to provide a distinct identity to the city
The Aquatic Centre and the sports complex from the podium of the building. The convention centre is placed over the aquatic Centre and the guest house block because the top most portion of the building giving the rooms are magnificent view of the park. Separate entries have been designed for aquatic Centre, The sports block, Convention centre and the guest house. This enables multiple functions to happen simultaneously without any chaos. Common public facilities such as restaurants and sky courts come together at various places in building.
The sports facilities in JPNIC includes an Olympic size swimming pool, and having phone, a multipurpose good, for tennis court and various zones to play squash, table tennis and snooker. The internal special design decentralized the sports venue, creating various Nodes of differing sizes suitable for each individual event.
In pursuing of making the building Compete with the latest technology in the world and to give it a substantial sustainability credibility, various latest initiatives have been incorporated since the design stage of the building itself. Few amongst them being installation of solar panels, solar powered lamps, providing a green roof, use of thermal installation on external facade and undertake, use of AAC block and approved low U-value glazing units.
JPN museum is a vital component of 'JPN monument' – a given gateway to the J P International conventional and sports Centre at Lucknow. Being symbolic, it is the anchor point of a plaza open to people making it an important urban node. It symbolizes J P Narayan's Spirit and leadership that brought people together, changing the political demographic in the country in mid 1970s. It is designed to inspire through its bold form, and to remind people of the immense power they have; to bring change for good and to change what must be changed to pass on a glorious future to the next generation. This interactive monument will draw people by its imposing presence and powerful sense of values on. It aspires to become a place of joy, contemplation and inspiration.
