NAVI MUMBAI, Maharashtra, India-400614 Mudliar's Pad, Residential-Apartments
Located on 4th floor of Progressive Builders is Mudliars' Pad at Vashi, Navi Mumbai. Mudliars approached us to design a house that would make the crammed up 1500 sqft Bombay apartment seem larger and to accommodate functions like study room, pooja room etc. Functionality played parallel to vastu and aesthetics, the apartment has been redesigned with an open plan concept to reduce the walls and make larger volumes. The puja room has been very neatly tucked in between the living area and balcony with shoji inspired screens keeping in mind the vastu directed/allocated space for the same. Similar concept is followed into the lounge like space which comprises the open kitchen, dining and living areas. The shoji inspired frame connects the breakfast-cum-bar counter to the dining table. This demarcates area for dining yet not being obstructive in the lounge like living space. All the furniture has been made out of ply and teak strips to reduce cost which looks exactly like wood after finishing.
