News Room for Wijeya News Papers, Commercial-Office Complex

The client had a requirement to convert two empty floors of the present office building into a News Room. There was a serious issue to access that area without disturbing the office areas adjacent to it. The solution given by us was to intruiduce a cantilivered enclosed steel deck which juts out from the building to create a connecting path.

The challenge was to highlight the entrance path to the new section so that the two office areas are clearly demarcated. The design idea was to introduce a feature wall inspired by Mondrian’s paintings which runs from the entrance to the reception area of the new section. Use of Red, Yellow, Blue and Black Zn / Al composit cladding sheets on the wall has become the main feature of the interior.
