Jayesh Shah
Mumbai, Maharashtra, India-4000034 |Practicing since: Feb. 1, 1994 Biyani Bungalow, Residential-Single family dwelling
Spread over 2.5 acres, with the bungalow occupying about 10,000 sq ft, the plot is located on a hilltop and offers a panoramic view of the town from one side, and of the valley from the other. Working on such an expanse provided for enough room to design wider in-house spaces. We made sure the owners enjoyed the joys of space. We achieved this with the height, the space, the view, and the materials used in the building, says architect Jayesh Shah. Starting from the facade, Shah ensured the house did not dominate the surrounding landscape. To also allow the residents to take in the prominent view, Shah created exterior seating, window-walls, balconies and decks around the house. The home is a single-storey building where the ground floor accommodates the living room, dining area, lounge, two guest bedrooms and a gym that can be converted into a bedroom. The first floor houses the master bedroom and two more bedrooms
