ECOUR STUDIO has designed a 25 acre housing development in the Dhayri area of Pune as a bold addition to the citys urban landscape. The masterplan integrates a series of courts which form a broad variety of community spaces that create connections within the development making it pedestrian friendly. Covering twenty five acres of land, Abhiruchi will become a complete new city quarter that integrates into the existing urban fabric. On completion, the project will provide up to 2,300 new homes as well as leisure and cultural uses including essential shopping. It will have a senior citizen housing project integrated within its premises. One third of the development is set aside as public and recreational space. Emphasis is placed on creating strong pedestrian links, running the full length of the project. The buildings are designed using post-modern principles injecting a new sense of character to the area.
