Hyderabad, Telangana, India-500034 Pool Scapped Courtyard, Residential-Single family dwelling
Project Name- PoolScaped Courtyard Project Location: Banjara Hills , Hyderabad-Telangana- India Firm Name- Moriq Firm Location: Hyderabad-Telangana-India Area:5200sft Year: October 2012 Photography- Mr.Mrigank Sharma Client Brief: The brief was to come up with a house with neat floor plans and somehow fit a swimming pool along with the huge list of other requirements. Description: The only solution for a small plot rectangular measuring 37 x 82 with large requirements was to go vertically and utilize all floor plates to maximum meaning no room/ landscape. As the swimming pool was must have in the requirement list and as there was no room to sit in the outdoor we brought it indoors at the parking level (Ground floor)and opened it out vertically for all the other floors to look into it. The house became a home with a pool scaped courtyard rather than a landscaped courtyard. The pool becomes to this house what a central landscaped courtyard becomes to others. It acts as a single unifying factor for all the rest of the floors to follow. The ground floor had the parking + servants and utilities and of course the pool. The first floor was all living areas with open and closed kitchen and a cut out looking down into the pool and looking up into the other floors. The second floor had the grandparents and the sons rooms, this level too are connected to the pool below. The third floor had the master suite and the daughters room again with the view of pool. Right above the pool up is skylight .Daylight enters in and creates magic on the water below. Even though the house is vertically planned, the strong connections keep it well connected. Whites, greys and browns are the main colors. A grey stone mural was conceived by the landscapist on the main walls near the pool. Furniture was contemporary with lot of emphasis on comfort. All table and floor lamps were carefully integrated with the decor. Lighting was kept subtle and as far as possible the features were discreet.
