THE SCINDIA SCHOOL,GWALIOR, Institutional-School

The Scindia School is an Indian boarding School for Boys, established in 1897. It has an eclectic collection of eighteenth century buildings set within a beautiful landscape. The project involved reinstating the original spaces and volumes and the usage pattern in a manner suitable to school but coinciding with the hierarchical order of original spaces, thus restoring the relationship of the internal spaces with each other and outside. It demanded new eyes and fresh approach of tackling the bare bones and an acknowledgement of the fact that it is a heritage monument.
