NO Architects

The project was to design the landscape for a studio in an urban context. The sustainable landscape is the result of the iterative experimentation seeking solutions to urban and environmental issues. The landscape was intended to improve the microclimate of the area by using indigenous plants, adding to the biodiversity. The project also aims to create a balance of wild life habitats and usable outdoor spaces to be part of the studio. Long duration and a tight budget were there the major constraints in the project as we had to build up a completely new ecosystem from a barren site, using minimum resources. We have also tried to achieve a water efficient landscape which requires minimum maintenance. The idea was to cater not just to human beings, but to the various flora and fauna endemic to the region.
