PRAGATI JAIN
Indore , Madhya Pradesh, India-452018 |Practicing since: Jan. 15, 1990 INDO THAI, Commercial-Office Complex
Ms.Pragati Jain, a seasoned interior designer, has conceptualized and created an alluring and classyfour-storied corporate office of INDO THAI- a stock broking company that deals with shares and stocks.Everything from the elevation, space planning and interior designing has been done under her expertise. The corporate office has four floors, each with a carpet area of approximately 3000 sq. ft.The ground and first floor have been left for future expansion, the second and third floors have company offices, and the terrace has been designed as a multi utility area. The interior of each floor is tied together by a theme. The office has been designed with an open plan with short cubicles that facilitate communication and interaction amongst its employees.
According to Pragati, "it was a herculean task to amalgamate varied tastes, ideas and colour preferences of all the four partners of the company. The design came about by the careful juxtaposition of resources, material of choices to suit everyone's taste. I believe that the key to a good design is to capture the spirit of users and stakeholders, and translate it into the essence of space". The reception area has been adorned with a beautiful temple, highlighted with silver leafing in its backdrop and an antique lamp. The flooring changes with space-use - Italian marble in reception areas and directors cabin, vitrified tiles in the workspaces and granite on the staircases. Minimalistic furniture is used with glass partitions in the workspace and cubicles.
An extensive amount of wood is used in the furniture to add warmth. Hues of bright orange and cyan sprinkle the decor in the soft furniture, selected walls and paintings. The director's and executive cabins adorn wooden flooring, executive tables and straight-line light fittings. Informal sofas have also been provided for long discussions with clients. The terrace space has been wonderfully utilized as a multifunctional area, and accommodates an audio-visual room, a cafeteria, a gym, a kitchen, and a store. Waterfall and flowerbeds along benches add to its grandeur and make it a tranquil space with a backdrop of the cityscape. As a designer, one has to design for the present keeping in mind the past, and for a future, which is essentially unknown - this is the ideology implemented in this project.
