Private Party Zone , Residential-Apartments
This is a private party space in a family owned building in Mumbai. The client brief was to create a very chilled out and relaxed space with a quirky vibe. They didnt want anything formal as they wanted the space to have a fun element to it. As the space was quite large and needed to be used for different sizes of parties, we divided the space into 3 separate zones which could be used individually or opened up completely into one large area. To divide the spaces we used folding doors with a brass grill. For the flooring we opted for a patterned cement tile from Bharat Flooring. The walls were finished in grey cement and the ceilings were painted black except for the entrance and a portion of the central area which has a bright red ceiling. One seating area has a large canopied Diwan with a batik print and a medley of cushions in pinks and oranges. The main space has large relaxed sofas and a bar section where one entire wall has framed mirrors and other mixed memorabilia. The bar counter itself is a vintage wooden piece with contemporary metal bar stools. Another area has grouping of standing cocktail tables in metal and mirror. As the space had a few strategically placed large columns, we created oversized brass discs as light fixtures on all of these columns. For ceiling lighting we used exposed pipes and naked hanging bulbs. The entire space is punctuated with interesting and cozy seating nooks for intimate conversation. The entire length of the main space has large sliding windows, so we added metal mullions to give them an Industrial feel.
