Marari Sands Beach Resort, Marari, Kerala, Hospitality-Hotel

An existing hotel has being refurbished and expanded as a 13-key boutique resort. Support spaces such as Dining hall, kitchen, meeting lounge and landscape has been upgraded. The design primarily uses local materials that provides a contemporary feel with a traditional character. Natural stone flooring, wood ceilings and use of coir in most of the spaces characterizes the flavor of a beach resort in Kerala. Verandas in each cottage and open bathrooms gives a natural and open feel critical for a boutique resort. Terracotta artwork depicting the life of a fisherman adorns the main entrance lobby. Unique smaller art identifies each of the cottages.
