Riverfront House, Palghar, Residential-FarmhousesProject Status: Completed
This weekend house for a film maker sits at the far end of a mango orchard and on the banks of a perennial river. The house comprises of three cottages surrounding a contoured garden. The smaller cottages sit on the riverbank and have terraces hovering over the river edge. The larger cottage houses the living spaces and the kitchen. The slate roof, stone floor and the ochre walls give the house a serene Balinese feel.
Area (in sq.ft)
ZingyEdit: Bringing a contemporary nuance, over the landscaped contours with its modernist features such as the truss style roof, edged along with large fenestration and a simplistic facade, this weekend abode resonates with the exciting exteriors.
Slate for the roof
ZingyEdit: This heavenly abode, is crowned up with slate stone tiles over the roof. Fenestration is bordered up with wooden frames, while the residence manages to screen scenic vistas of the lush greens around the lone residence.
Courtyard view from Living
ZingyEdit: A huge green courtyard lies between the different spaces, linking them to each other, by inviting the notion of social integration.
Bedroom river deck
ZingyEdit: Lying across the river deck, the balcony floored in wooden panels frames scenic views, while the insides are pepped up with interesting formal seating.
Living sliding shutters

View of the House from across the river
ZingyEdit: A play of reflection happens, as the house lies across the waterfront resonating with the nature.
