Product composition:  A revolutionary concept in decorative exterior finishes, WeatherCoat Tartaruga has been certified by architects, builders and property owners across the world.   Developed by Berger Portugal.  Tartaruga means 'tortoise' in Portuguese and the product's extreme durability aptly reflects the tortoise's remarkably long lifespan.   Honed to perfection by Berger India's R&D to stand up to the rigours of Indian conditions, WeatherCoat Tartaruga has more than proved itself in the three decades since its launch.  With a high-built acrylic formulation (200-300 microns), it is water-resistant, includes aggregates like quartz, mica, silicon and cobalt, as well as UV resistant inorganic pigments and other additives to enhance its durability. Available in an unlimited range of textures and 200 shades, what's more, WeatherCoat Tartaruga is easy to apply and can to be used on a wide variety of interior and exterior surfaces. 

USP: WeatherCoat Tartaruga's film has a unique property that enables it to 'breathe' out entrapped moisture from the paint surface and the substrate. It is also fungus proof.   The product is thermoplastic, formulated to stand up to extreme climatic conditions, the paint film has tough elastic properties that enable it to stretch to accommodate contractions and expansions caused by varying ambient temperatures, thereby preventing cracks and fissures on the painted surface.  Its UV resistant pigments enable it be fade resistent, thereby maintaining a newly painted look for at least 10 years. 

Directions for use:

Surface preparation: The surface should be sound, clean, free of loose particles, dust, grease, chalk, fungus and mould. Remove fungus growth with Berger Bio-Wash, anti-fungal treatment or with a fungicide bleaching powder solution (2-5%).  Clean surface by wire-brushing and wash with water.   Cavities (up to 5 mm deep) in the substrate should be filled with Home Shield Crack Fill Powder/Paste and the substrate should be made uniform before the application of WeatherCoat Tartaruga. 

Primers: No priming required (for new surface). 

Product preparation: Do not thin. Stir well and pour into a flat tray.   Apply one coat directly on the surface by dipping block brush into tray.   The coat should be applied according to the smoothness of the surface and the depth of texture required.   After covering approx. 2 sq mtr., lay with roller j application tool from bottom to top. 

Depending on ambient conditions, WeatherCoat Tartaruga dries in 24 hours.   No water curing or after treatment is required.   For coloured surfaces, follow the above method and then apply 2 finishing coats with an exterior emulsion in the shade of your choice, keeping the recommended interval between coats.
